If there was another proof needed, how important Kiril Lazarov is for Macedonian handball, it came in this match. The left-handed world-class player produced a brilliant gala in Skopje and - figuratively speaking – beat Switzerland on his own, scoring 13 of the 27 Macedonian goals. Already after the first half Lazarov's efficiency was impressive, as he needed just ten attempts to score seven of his team's first 12 goals.

KIF Kolding Kobenhavn are still leading Group B thanks to a better goal difference than their opponents in the Match of the Week Sunday, after the two teams drew 27:27 in the top match of the group in Brøndbyhallen. More than 5,000 spectators did not only get a great handball match, but also a breathtaking thriller, in which Barcelona seemed to be heading for the win most of the game, but in which KIF refused to give in a managed to snatch a point at the end. KIF got the better start and a 4:2 lead, but Barcelona soon took over the initiative.

The Barça handball team has set a club record by going 38 games unbeaten in the Liga Asobal, with latest victim being Bada BM Huesca this evening. The Aragonese outfit was well beaten, 43:29, with ten of the goals scored by Victor Tomás, without question the most impressive player on the court. With Karabatic out with a stomach bug, Jallouz started out in attack, and despite a slow start (6:6 after 10 mins), Barça soon started edging into a meaningful lead (12:7 after 16 mins).

Barça gets its third straight win in the Champions League group stage over Besiktas. Sigurdsson (8), Lazarov (6) and Tomàs (6), led the team in scoring. Barça keep on looking good in the Champions League. This evening, in their third group stage match, they handed Besiktas a 35:25 defeat. It was quite an entertaining encounter, especially in the frenetic first quarter. It was in the second quarter that Barcelona grabbed Besiktas by the horns, with the help of Gonzalo Perez de Vargas and Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson, and came to the half with a comfortable lead.

Besiktas' visit to the Palau for Sunday's VELUX EHF Champions League game, will be the first from a Turkish team in 17 years. Cankaya Ankara were the last Turkish side to play in Barcelona, on October 5, 1997 in the first leg of the last 16 of the 1997/98 Champions League, when Barça won 34:12, winning 30:37 in the return leg a few days later.

Barça overcame a tough opponent to make it two wins out of two in the Champions League. Lazarov (9) and Karabatic (7) led the scoring and Pérez de Vargas once again shone between the posts. Barça beat Polish side Wisla Plock 30-25 and are now 2:0 in Champions League play. But things didn't get off to the most promising of starts when strong defending fired the visitors into a 2:5 lead, and things could have been worse had Pérez de Vargas not been so effective in goal. By the quarter hour, Sarmiento and Ariño had edged Barça back into it at 4-5.

Barça got their Champions League campaign off to a strong start in Sweden. The home side had a decent first half, but once the visitors got into their stride, there was only ever going to be one winner. As Xavi Pascual had expected, the Swedes used their speed on the counter attack to great effect, but when Viran Morros scored after 18 minutes, Barça finally managed to put some space between the two scores at 9:13.
