Kadetten Schaffhausen - FC Barcelona Lassa 24:31 (10:18)

Barça Lassa maintain first place in Group A of the EHF Velux Champions League as Xavi Pascual's side were able to secure an impressive and comprehensive away win against the Swiss side Kadetten (31-24). The Swiss team are currently bottom of the group and they couldn't cope with a blaugrana side that led throughout. Barça spread the goals around with N'Guessan, Lazarov, Saubich, Syprzak and Rivera, all top scoring with four apiece. After eleven fixtures, Barça Lassa are on 20 points, thanks to ten victories, and they will look to secure first place in the last three group stage fixtures.

The blaugranes didn't wait around and from the opening whistle they imposed themselves on the home side with their superior quality. They attacked with speed and Ristovski saved well when called upon and they established a lead early on they would never relinquish. The attacks came thick and fast and despite the home keeper Bringolf's best efforts his side were struggling to match the away side who led 4:1 and 10:6 at points in the half. Two late goals from Saubich and Jicha, the later right at the end of the half, gave Barça a clear lead going into the break (18:10).

When the game restarted Barça picked up where they left off with the home side leaving their goal exposed as their goalkeeper joined the attack and the Catalans picking them off to maintain the lead. A small decrease in the away side's intensity allowed Kadetten to bring the scores slightly closer at 23:17 but the result was never in danger.
Eight minutes from the end Kadetten's attempts to get back into the game were halted by two N'Guessan goals in 15 seconds putting Barça six ahead once again and made sure of the win which the dominant performance deserved. Following this victory, Barça Lassa turn their attentions away from the Champions League as they have under 48 hours to rest up ahead of their game against Naturhouse La Rioja at the Palau Blaugrana.
