FC Barcelona - BM Guadalajara 45:30 (19:14)

Xavi Pascual's team are league champions but the focus continues in yet another victory following a two week break. There is no stopping FC Barcelona's handball team. They returned to action after two weeks without a competitive fixture to due to international fixtures and recorded their 28th win in 28 league matches. The win over BM Guadalajara was based on an excellent performance from Icelandic star Sigurdsson who ended the game as top scorer with 11 goals. Barça fell behind to the visitors in the early stages but once they were ahead, Xavi Pascual's side never again relinquished their advantage.

Goals from Gurbindo, Sorhaindo and of course Sigurdsson put them in front as they caused untold problems for their opponents on the counter attack. With the man from Iceland off the court, it was Wael Jallouz who picked up the baton as Barça stretched their lead to 19:12 before a mini fightback from Guadalajara saw the half time score sit at 19:14. In the second half the blaugranes advantage grew with Sorhaindo and Karabatic coming to the fore. Pérez de Vargas excellent once again in goal and the tempo set by Guadalajara earlier in the game was impossible to sustain. Once again, Barça were devastating on the counter attack with Sigurdsson getting his personal tally into double figures before the end. The blaugranes continue to show excellent form domestically with their European semi-final with Cologne just three weeks away.
