IHF Super Globe groups drawn in Sarajevo
Attended by a big number of media representatives and officials of Qatar Handball Association and International Handball Federation the draw for the 2013 edition of the IHF Super Globe in Doha (Qatar) took place in Sarajevo on Saturday evening 27 July on the fringes of the Men's Junior World Championship. Conducted by Leon Kalin (Chairman of the IHF COC Commission) and Mohamed Gaber al Mulla (Secretary General of the Qatar Handball Association) the groups of the preliminary round had been drawn.
Draw for IHF Super Globe on today in Sarajevo
The draw for the IHF Super Globe in Doha, Qatar, will take place in the Zetra Sport Hall in Sarajevo on the fringes of the current Men's Junior World Championship on Saturday (27 July) at 18:15. The draw for the tournament (25-30 August) will be conducted by IHF COC Chairman Leon Kalin.
Cuenca - Barça first opponent in Liga Asobal
Barcelona's first game in the Liga Asobal 2013/14 will be at the Palau Blaugrana against Global Caja Ciudad Encantada de Cuenca. Barça know their fixtures in the Liga Asobal 2013/14. Thursday's draw in the Asobal offices produced BM Ciudad Encantada as their opening fixture on September 14 or 15.
Macedonia - new Balkan handball power
After the very last in a total of 84 qualification matches, the Macedonians could jump for joy to celebrate their third EHF EURO participation. They were under big pressure ahead of their must win match against Portugal. Trailing Portugal by a point after losing the reverse fixture, they secured qualification at home with a 26:19 win. With their unsuccessful start in the qualification campaign and after missing out on the quarter-finals at the 2013 World Championship in Spain, the Federation sacked coach Zvonko Shundovski and named Croat Ivica Obrvan as his successor, who started by two clear qualification defeats against Spain.
IHF invites Barça to Super Globe 2013
The International Handball Federation (IHF) formally invited FC Barcelona to take part in the Super Globe to be held in Doha (Qatar) from August 25 to 30, 2013. FC Barcelona accepted the invitation and wishes to thank the IHF for the chance to appear in such a prestigious event.

All 18 teams with direct tickets to the Group Phase of the VELUX EHF Champions League can start planning their travel schedule for the next season as the draw on Friday at the Gloriette, Vienna defined all four groups. Even all 20 teams from the qualification know now, what kind of reward is waiting for them in case they make it through to the Group Phase - especially, the defending champions HSV Hamburg, who have to overcome their bundesliga rivals Füchse Berlin in the Wild Card knock-out match first. Macedonia in Herning in group with Denmark, Czech Republic and Austria
Men's EHF EURO 2014 hosts and defending champions, Denmark, will face Czech Republic, Macedonia and Austria in the Preliminary Round Group A of the European Handball Federation's national team flagship event in January next year.
