FC Barcelona Lassa - BM Granollers 37:26 (17:17)

FC Barcelona Lassa handball got their league campaign off to a winning start on Wednesday with a hard fought victory over BM Granollers (37:26). Despite the scoreline suggesting otherwise, the home side were made to work for the victory, with the team from Vallès putting up a solid fight at the Palau Blaugrana.

Jallouz started brightly for Barça, with three goals to his name after a quarter of an hour which saw the home side hold an 11:9 lead. The visitors were making things difficult, but after 25 minutes, Xavi Pascual's side took a sizeable six point advantage (17:11).

Granollers however, managed to make their way back into the game before the break thanks to some solid defending and clinical finishing. Gassama's goal just before the half-time whistle saw the teams go into the interval at 17 apiece.

Barça came out seemingly unaffected by the disappointing end to the half, as Jallouz and Sorhaindo helped the team to a 29:23 lead early on. Intent on not suffering the same fate as the first, Barça went for the jugular. Debutant N'Guesan made it 31:23 which, from then on, was a mountain too high to climb for Granollers. Gonzalo Pérez, who also came on in the second period, finished things off to give Barça a 37:26 win in the derby.
