kolding - barca

Kolding – FC Barcelona Lassa 28:36 (15:16)

FC Barcelona Lassa overcame Kolding away from home by 36:28 in the ninth game of the EHF Champions League, a victory that allows them to remain two points ahead of Group B rivals Rhein-Neckar Lowen. The blaugranes based their win on the form of the outstanding Jallouz who scored 9 from 12 – and an excellent start to the second half that left their Danish opponents with no reply. The first half was very tight and both side were on their game in attack. Barça took an early advantage thanks to Carlos Ruesga's first ever goal in European competition.

The Danes fought back with goals from Laen and Karlsson, the due scoring nine of their 15 first half strikes. Jallouz, inspired in Europe this season, came into the match with 29 goals to his name in three matches. His four goals in the opening half and three from Lazarov allowed Barça a slight 16:15 lead at the break. Xavi Pascual's team took charge of the game with a four goal unanswered spell in the second half, Aitor Ariño leading the way to see them go ahead 23:19. Kolding came back to 21:23 down but that was the moment that the visitors opened up a decisive lead. Jallouz again was key in helping Barça to a 36:27 lead. The final score read 38:26 to the Catalans, an excellent second half giving them an important European victory.
